General Questions

7 Q&A

RemitSelect is a free comparison platform for international money transfers. We help you instantly compare rates, fees, and delivery times from 50+ regulated providers in seconds — without signing up or sharing personal information.

Simply enter where you're sending from, where you're sending to, and the amount. We show you all available options ranked by total payout to the recipient. Click through to your chosen provider's site to complete the transfer directly with them.

100% Free

Yes — completely and always free. Comparing rates, browsing providers, and searching for the best option costs you nothing. RemitSelect never charges users for accessing our comparison tool.

No account is required. You can access our full comparison tool instantly and anonymously. No email, no registration, no personal data collection — just enter your transfer details and see results immediately.

Affiliate Model

RemitSelect earns a small referral commission from providers only when you complete a transfer with them. This does not increase the cost to you — the commission comes from the provider's existing marketing budget.

It does not influence our rankings. Providers are sorted by the total value they offer you, not by how much they pay us.

RemitSelect covers 50+ sending and receiving corridors, including:

  • UK, USA, Europe, Canada, Australia, Gulf countries
  • Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana, and more

We are continuously expanding. If your corridor isn't yet covered, contact us and we'll prioritize it.

RemitSelect was built by expats, for expats. Our founding team experienced the frustration of overpaying on international transfers and losing money to hidden fees. That personal experience drives everything we do: help more money reach home.

RemitSelect is a comparison platform, not a money services provider — we don't hold or transfer funds. All providers listed on our platform are verified as regulated and licensed by relevant financial authorities before appearing in our results.

Using RemitSelect

6 Q&A
  1. Visit RemitSelect.com
  2. Select your sending country
  3. Select your receiving country
  4. Enter the amount you want to send
  5. View all available providers ranked by payout
  6. Click through to your preferred provider to complete the transfer

The entire process takes less than 30 seconds.

To compare, you only need:

  • Sending country (where you are)
  • Receiving country (where your family is)
  • Amount to send (in your local currency)

That's it. No personal details required for comparison.

Total payout is the amount your family actually receives — after all fees and exchange margins are applied. This is the most important number to compare because it shows the true cost of each provider.

For example: if you send $100 and the total payout is $96.50, that means you're paying $3.50 in total costs (fees + exchange margin combined).

Yes. RemitSelect lets you filter by:

  • Delivery method — bank deposit, mobile money, cash pickup, etc.
  • Delivery speed — instant, same day, next day, or 1-3 business days
  • Sorting options — by payout, fee, speed, or exchange rate

Apply filters to see only providers that match your priorities.

RemitSelect pulls rate data regularly from providers to keep comparisons current. However, currency markets move constantly — there may be small differences between our displayed rate and the rate on the provider's platform at the moment of transfer.

Always confirm the final rate on the provider's site before completing your transfer. Our comparison is your guide — not a locked-in guarantee.

RemitSelect's core comparison is always available without alerts. For advanced features like rate monitoring or saved providers, contact us at contact@remitselect.com to discuss your needs.

Rates & Fees

8 Q&A

The mid-market rate (also called the interbank rate) is the true exchange rate on global currency markets — the one you see on Google or Bloomberg. It's the fairest benchmark to measure provider value.

No provider offers the exact mid-market rate. They all add a margin (their profit). Providers closer to the mid-market rate = better value for you.

Exchange rates are determined by global currency markets that trade 24/5 and fluctuate based on:

  • Central bank interest rate decisions
  • Economic data and inflation reports
  • Political events and geopolitical risk
  • Supply and demand for currencies
  • Market sentiment and trader behaviour

Transfer fee: A flat or percentage charge shown upfront (e.g. £2.99 or 1%). Easy to spot.

Exchange rate margin: The gap between the mid-market rate and what the provider offers. This is where most profit is hidden. Providers advertising "no fees" often have wide margins.

Always compare total payout, not fees or rates in isolation.

Yes — most providers charge differently by payment method:

  • Bank transfer — usually cheapest
  • Debit card — slightly higher
  • Credit card — typically most expensive (1.5-3% extra)

Always check the provider's fee breakdown for your preferred payment method.

RemitSelect shows all major costs. However, watch for:

  • Exchange rate margin disguised as good rates
  • Receiving-end bank fees not always disclosed upfront
  • Conversion fees on multi-currency transfers
  • Promotional rates that apply only to first transfer

Our comparison shows both the fee and exchange margin so you see the full picture.

Most providers have:

  • Minimum: Usually $10-$50 per transfer
  • Maximum: Varies by verification level — often $5,000-$10,000 for unverified users, higher once verified

RemitSelect shows which providers support your amount — providers that can't handle your amount won't appear in results.

The global average remittance fee is approximately 6%. Best-value providers on RemitSelect often charge under 3%.

On a $500 transfer: that's saving roughly $15 per transaction — or $180/year if you transfer monthly.

Our comparison shows your exact saving for every transfer you compare.

Every provider has different costs and strategies:

  • Different exchange rate margins (0.5% to 5%+ variation is common)
  • Different fee structures
  • Volume-based pricing — larger transfers get better rates
  • Promotional rates to attract new users
  • Different business models (digital vs branch-based)

A 2-4% difference on $1,000 = $20-$40 to your family. This is exactly why comparison matters.

Completing Transfers

6 Q&A

Delivery times vary by provider and corridor:

  • Instant to 1 hour: Mobile money and cash pickup (e.g. Philippines, Kenya)
  • Same day to next day: Most bank transfers on major corridors
  • 1-3 business days: Slower corridors or first-time transfers pending verification

RemitSelect shows estimated delivery time for each provider in your results.

Common delivery methods on our platform:

  • Bank deposit — directly to recipient's bank account
  • Mobile money — M-Pesa, bKash, Easypaisa, GCash, etc.
  • Cash pickup — recipient collects from partner location
  • Home delivery — available in select markets

Filter by your preferred delivery method before comparing.

Payment methods vary by provider, but typically include:

  • Bank transfer / Direct debit — usually cheapest and fastest
  • Debit card — instant or next day
  • Credit card — instant but may incur higher fees
  • Wallet or app — for fintech providers

Each provider shows which methods they accept during checkout.

Yes. Tracking is provided by the provider, not RemitSelect. Once you complete a transfer, you'll receive a confirmation email and tracking reference from the provider.

Use that reference in the provider's app or website to check transfer status and delivery time.

Contact the provider directly. Since RemitSelect is a comparison platform, not the transfer service, the provider handles all issues.

  • Look for the provider's customer support contact on their platform
  • Reference your transfer tracking number
  • Describe the issue clearly
  • If unresolved, escalate to your local financial regulator

Cancellation policies vary by provider:

  • Not processed yet: Usually can be cancelled within 30 minutes to a few hours
  • Already sent: Cannot be recalled once delivered
  • Refunds: Typically processed to original payment method within 3-5 business days

Always review the provider's terms before transferring.

Security & Privacy

7 Q&A

RemitSelect does not require personal data to use the comparison tool. No email, no account, no identity documents needed to compare.

When you click through to a provider and complete a transfer, you share data directly with that provider — governed by their privacy policy and regulatory obligations (GDPR, etc.).

Legal Requirement

KYC (Know Your Customer) is a legal requirement for all regulated financial providers worldwide. It's mandated by anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing laws.

Typical documents include passport, national ID, and proof of address. Providers that require KYC are trustworthy. Those that skip it are likely unregulated — avoid them.

Verified Only

Yes — every provider on RemitSelect is verified as regulated. We manually check each provider for licensing in their home jurisdiction before listing them.

Providers must be licensed by relevant authorities (FCA in UK, FinCEN in USA, etc.). If they lose compliance, they're removed from our platform.

Use only regulated, verified providers. Every provider on RemitSelect has been checked.

Red flags to watch:

  • Asking you to pay via gift cards or cryptocurrency
  • Unrealistically high exchange rates
  • No clear business address or regulation details
  • Pressure to send urgently without verification

If in doubt, verify a provider's license directly on your regulator's website.

Look for HTTPS and a padlock icon in your browser's address bar. This means data is encrypted. Never enter payment details on a non-HTTPS site.

Both RemitSelect and all listed providers use HTTPS encryption.

RemitSelect maintains incident response procedures. In case of any security issue, we will:

  • Notify affected users immediately
  • Contact relevant regulators
  • Provide guidance on protective measures

If you suspect a breach, contact us immediately at contact@remitselect.com.

Yes. RemitSelect complies with UK GDPR and EU GDPR regulations regarding personal data. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle data.

Provider Information

5 Q&A

RemitSelect features 50+ verified providers including both global platforms and regional specialists. All are manually verified for regulatory compliance before listing.

We list the best and most trustworthy, not the most providers.

Every provider must:

  • Hold a current financial services license from a recognized authority
  • Operate transparently with clear fee and rate structures
  • Have a functioning customer support system
  • Maintain good regulatory standing

We verify this before listing and continuously monitor compliance.

RemitSelect pulls rate data regularly from providers to keep comparisons as current as possible. However, currency markets move constantly — always confirm the final rate on the provider's site before completing your transfer.

Providers are listed based on:

  • Regulatory compliance — must be licensed and in good standing
  • Corridors covered — must serve corridors on our platform
  • API availability — must provide live rate data
  • Service quality — track record of reliable transfers

All listed providers have formal complaints procedures. File complaints directly with the provider first. If unresolved, escalate to your local financial regulator (e.g. FCA in UK, CFPB in USA).

Also let us know at contact@remitselect.com — repeated issues may result in removal from our platform.

Your commission is irrelevant to ranking. Better value = higher position. This keeps RemitSelect unbiased and trustworthy to users.
